During our stay in the heavenly Berjaya Langkawi Resort on the Malaysian Island Langkawi, I decided to give the impressive art of astrophotography a go and it seems I couldn’t have picked a more beautiful night for my first try. When looking at the image afterwards, I was especially surprised and fascinated by the illuminated purple firmament, which gave a certain magical feel to starry night sky. At the time this colouration was hardly visible to the naked eye, but the mystical violet hue was enhanced by the, for this photographing technique necessary, slow shutter speed.
Unforgettable memories
The Pulau (which means „island“) Langkawi, Malaysia is a group of islands consisting of 99 small limestone isles located off the northwestern coast of Malaysia and is the most popular tourist spot in the area. The slogan of the island, „Naturally Langkawi“ and speaks for itself. The untouched and seemingly endless beaches and coastal stretches, the vivid jungle with its divers species richness and of course the warmth and heartiness of the people, make for unforgettable memories during the time spent in paradise.
I am looking forward to sharing more of the incredibly impressive images and experiences from our visit to Langkawi, Malaysia.
