Mallorca Memories | Spain

Maybe you’ve already heard this joke, that Mallorca is seventeenth state of Germany? Well, last year once again I decided to confirm the stereotype of Germans and visit this stunning Balearic island.

However, we tried to avoid Palma and the loud “Ballermans” of Mallorca’s southern coast. We chose the bit less touristic Alcudia in the north which exists probably since the Bronze Age. Big advantage of this place is that you still meet some local places where during hot nights you can sit together with Spaniards and drink a beer from a frozen glass (yes frozen!). The Mediterranean see is completely calm there as the waves are broken by peninsulas which surround this place.

The evening when I shot this photo I was wandering, like always with my camera, around Port d’Alcudia. I was hoping for some composition with port, sunset and the stunning mountains in the background, but my attention was stolen by the couple who was trying to make a selfie to capture the moment of Spanish sunset.
When I started to process this photo I realized that I could ask them for address to send them this picture. It would be easier than shooting a selfie with a phone against the sun…
