Do you have a special place that evokes pleasant memories? Prague, Czech Republic is such a place for Daria and me, since this is the city in which we first met and then – almost 5 years later, we got married there.
Náměstí Jiřího z Poděbrad
The area around Jiřího z Poděbrad Square is where we lived before and after our wedding. This photo is really special for me, because it was taken just two days after our marriage, while we were strolling around Náměstí Jiřího z Poděbrad, located in the Vinohrady district of Prague. The square dates back to the 19th century.
The Vinohrady district of Prague
The name literally means ‘vineyards’ in English. While nowadays this is an urban area, in the middle ages this land was covered in vineyards. On the photo you can also see the Roman Catholic Church “Nejsvětějšího Srdce Páně” or “Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Our Lord”, which construction works were finalized in 1932. Another significant city sight, visible here, is the Žižkov Television Tower, adding a high-tech touch to the landscape.
