Favàritx Lighthouse is one of the most visited lighthouses on Menorca, maybe because of this out-of-this-world feeling which you have while standing on the lunar-like ground and seeing the white statue of the lighthouse created to rescue ships wrecking on the harsh coast of Menorca.
Favàritx Lighthouse is the oldest lighthouse on Menorca. Before it was erected in 1922 many ships wrecked on the north-east shore of this Balearic Island in Spain. The Favàritx lighthouse stands 47 meters above sea level. The lighthouse itself is 28m high, but it is built on the cliffs which fall steeply into the sea.
Ever wondered what a bugloss is? A bugloss is a plant that is widespread on the island of Tenerife, in Spain. It usually grows up to approximately 3 meters in height and you can see it on Las Cañadas del Teide. I have always wanted to see them bloom in an inflamed red shade.
The Burano, with its distinctive colours, was unlike anything I had ever seen before. I later learned that there was a purpose behind the colour-toned design. During the golden age of development of Burano, if a house owner wanted to paint his belongings, he had to apply to Burano’s government for a colour. The government would only allow a few options of colours of choice.
It was a sunny day in which we were hiking in the mountain, enjoying the beauty of Nature. Then I saw these interesting trees and prepared my equipment for taking pictures. I was all set when I suddenly noticed something strange – it was a cloud that moved away. Then another cloud, and another…
As the most beaches in Tenerife, the sand of Benijo Beach is black. There are also black stones in the water because of its volcanic origin. As you can see on the picture, these natural elements create out-of-the-Earth scenery and thus make Benijo Beach, Tenerife a photographer’s heaven. It’s owned by the city of Taganana, and its length is 300 m (985 ft).
During our stay in the fantastic Berjaya Langkawi Resort in Pulau Langkawi, Malaysia I was finally able to take my latest technical gadget for a test-drive: My DJI Phantom 4 drone, which enables me to take pictures from a bird’s-eye view. The picture of the sapphire blue sea and the lush forest, together with the small wooden chalets of the resort prove that I couldn’t have picked a more suitable place – this coastal stretch deserves to be captured from above in all its beauty.
We were lucky enough to spend eight nights in paradise, in the form of one of the water chalets of the Berjaya Langkawi Resort on Pulau Langkawi off the northwestern coast of Malaysia. From the comfort of the bungalow’s patio I was able to take breathtakingly beautiful pictures. It didn’t matter what direction I looked, there were stunning scenes everywhere. One of them was this cloudy sky over the Langkawi Island, Malaysia which seemed to have caught fire.
The evening when I shot this photo I was wandering, like always with my camera, around Port d’Alcudia. I was hoping for some composition with port, sunset and the stunning mountains in the background, but my attention was stolen by the couple who was trying to make a selfie to capture the moment of Spanish sunset.
