The structure of the “dome” began in 2007 and was completed 9 months later when the author, artist Miquel Barcelo placed his signature in the middle of the Cupola. Knowing that for this 1,400 square meters of ceiling, they needed 35,000 kilos of paint – this was met with great awe! The art piece on the Cupola is a metaphor of what the United Nations represent.
This is a wooden figurine of a small dragon, found in the ancient St. Pierre Cathedral in Geneva.

St. Pierre Cathedral and the Dragon – unrevealed secret | Geneva, Switzerland

This little dragon we saw when we were visiting the St. Pierre Cathedral in Geneva. Now, this is something I definitely don’t do often – taking photos of miniature elements, instead of panoramic views or capturing large-scale images. However, as soon as I saw this wooden figurine of a small dragon, I thought it’s an interesting object for a photo.

Bâtiment des Forces Motrices BFM | Geneva, Switzerland

The Bâtiment des Forces Motrices, also known as BFM in Geneva, is a building, which immediately put me under its spell. During an evening stroll through the second largest city in Switzerland the sumptuous illuminated building in the middle of the river Rhône caught my photographic eye in a heartbeat. The BFM was originally constructed between 1883 and 1892 as a hydroelectric power plant and was used as such until 1960.
