This picture was taken during our one-week stay in Port D’Alcudia in the North of the Balearic Island Mallorca. I already noticed the unique sunsets with their vibrant orange, yellow and red colours during the first couple of evenings we spend in the small Spanish provincial town. I didn’t really have a choice and just had to capture this stunning sight with my camera.

The evening when I shot this photo I was wandering, like always with my camera, around Port d’Alcudia. I was hoping for some composition with port, sunset and the stunning mountains in the background, but my attention was stolen by the couple who was trying to make a selfie to capture the moment of Spanish sunset.

So far I never had the pleasure to sail around Mallorca, but every time I’m there one thought comes to my head: Next time for sure! And so this thought came again during our last visit there, when Daria and me discovered the island a bit on bicycles. Numerous sailing boats went up and down in the turquoise water in front of the rocky coastline and invited to daydream a bit more.

Mallorca is often called the 17th federal state here in Germany and in times like these, there is nothing you want more than lying on the beach. It has 36°C here in Berlin. Not complaining about the heat, but it is definitely more pleasant to enjoy the sun outside of the city.
