We found the fairy-tale glow of the castle, which contrasted the evergreen hills of Serra da Sintra, quite unique. Each part of it had different paint and almost gave an impression of a separate building, taken out of different worlds, but with its own imaginative ornaments.
There is only one thing better than capturing a panoramic photo of a capital with mountains in the background. What would you say it is? You will immediately notice when you’re in Misurina in the Dolomites, that the air will be unlike what you’ve ever experienced. The lake Misurina and its surroundings are believed to have good air for healing respiratory diseases. From our experience, we found that breathing 1754 meters above sea level wasn’t easy, but it may just be that the views were simply breath-taking.
Palácio da Pena as its name is in Portuguese, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the best representations of Romanticism style in the world. It combines architecture styles of Neo-gothic, Neo-Manueline, Neo-Islamic and Neo-Renaissance. Be sure to take a walk not only inside Pena castle, but also around the castle itself. The view from some of the hills are remarkably outstanding and you will have an even better impression of the castle whilst seeing it from a distance.
The day was sunny and it was a pleasure to climb up, even though there were many people who were going with us. Our tour started at 1000m of altitude and ended at 2000m to Kasprowy Wierch. In two third of the way, we reached Hala Gasienicowa – a meadow in between mountains. As soon as I saw the composition of the wooden cabin with high mountain scenery I knew it was worth to carry ten kilos of camera backpack with me.
The limestone caves, Batu Caves, are located to the North of the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur. The Temple Cave is not only home to a number of different Hindu shrines, but is also the largest cave of the system with a ceiling height of up to 100 metres. The pictures shows one of those incredibly impressive Hindu altars, which is located in the very depth of the cave.
