Some information about Valencia Cathedral
The Catalans call Valencia Cathedral “Seu”. It is dedicated to Our Lady Mary. Although the Cathedral was consecrated in 1238, it was not the first church erected on this site. Archaeological works in the underground of “Seu” confirmed that the Visigothic church was built here earlier. Later it was converted into a mosque. The architecture of Valencia Cathedral is a mixture of Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque and Neoclassical styles.
The side chapel to the right of the entrance is where the alleged Holy Grail is kept. Christian tradition says that this cup was probably used by Jesus during the last supper.
