Skyline

Infinity pool | Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
In the Setia Sky Towers, where we rented our flat were two kinds of swimming pools. First, on the rooftop of garages, good for a middle-day swim. Second infinity pool on the last floor of the building. There we often spent our evenings just looking on the sun setting in Kuala Lumpur and later on the colorful lights of the city and Petronas Towers. Observing how television Tower is changing its color we were thinking that we are very lucky
Mount Lycabettus | Athens, Greece
What a colorful mosaic… That’s what I said when I saw the fantastic panorama view of the Mount Lycabettus in Athens. This photo was taken from the famous Akropolis and you can see the hill, surrounded by bright colored buildings, typical for the capital of Greece. Personally, I was most amazed by the fact, that there’s a hill in the center of a capital city. Mount Lycabettus is a really unique formation and if you still haven’t visited the charming
On focus: the TV Tower of Berlin from Storkower Street | Berlin, Germany
This picture is among the very few ones that really show unusual perspective on Berlin center. Actually, the trick I used for this image was to intentionally brake all the two-thirds or golden ratio rule of photography, and choose to put the TV Tower of Berlin right in the middle. I did that because I really liked the way it stands out of the entire composition.
TV Tower at Night from Park Inn by Radisson | Berlin, Germany
With its 125 meters (410 feet) of height, this is, indisputably, the tallest building in the city. Park Inn by Radisson Berlin is also the tallest hotel in the country. Moreover it offers one of my favorite views existing in a city in Germany. The Hotel has 37 floors and it’s located in the northeastern part of Alexanderplatz, in the central Mitte district.
Skyline | Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
During our trip to Asia we were lucky enough to spend a couple of days in the city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The capital of the country has a lot to offer, but the view from the balcony of the apartment we stayed in, was my favourite by far. Thanks to the small city village of Kampung Baru we had an unspoiled view of the impressive Skyline of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which looked different every time we looked at it.
Main Tower | Frankfurt am Main, Germany
The Main Tower in Frankfurt am Main, Germany was opened in January 2000 and with a height of 200 meters, it is the fourth highest building in Germany. In the core of the impressive facade of glass you find the 26 fastest elevators in the country, which transport people and goods with a speed of 25.2 km/h.
Skyline | Marina Bay, Singapore
The Skyline of Singapore, as seen from the popular Marina Bay, is one of the most distinctive landmarks of this beautiful city. Obviously enough I had to capture this impressive architectural masterpiece. It seems like we also picked the perfect time for our visit, which fell right between the dry and the rain period; this meant that we didn’t have to hassle the typical mist and got to see some breathtaking cloud formations.
KLCC Park | Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
At the bottom of the famous Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia you find the KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Centre) Park, which was designed by Roberto Burle Marx and is an absolute must-see when visiting the Malaysian capital. The park area measures about 20 hectares and offers many walkways, playgrounds and picnic areas, but its biggest attraction is the 10,000 m² big man-made lake, Lake Symphony with a 43 meter long bridge spanning across the water.
Dubrovnik’s towers | Dubrovnik, Croatia
The famous wall of Dubrovnik is the ideal place to enjoy some incredible views high above the red slatted roofs of the UNESCO world heritage city. While I looked around, this unique skyline caught my eye immediately. To me, those towers and domes, whose outline pierce against the turquoise blue Mediterranean Sea is a unique sight and I doubt you will find this anywhere else in the world but in the Croatian city of Dubrovnik.
Trains | Berlin, Germany
The S-Bahn and Berlin. More of a love-hate relationship than anything else. And if one metro scene is really typical for Berlin, then it’s the trains meandering through the city centre. Just as you can see them in this image; approaching the center from the eastern part of the city.
University of Greenwich | London, England
You have certainly all heard of Greenwich. Usually in the context of the zero meridian or the time zones. But only few have actually visited Greenwich – it’s not really on the list of things to do on a weekend trip to London.
Independence Day | Bratislava, Slovakia
As the heavens opened up a bit and the UFO was illuminated in the orange light, it seemed to me as if I saw a version of the famous scene from the movie Independence Day – live in Bratislava. Surely, soon the first laser beams would appear across the Danube and raze the city to the ground…
London Eye – The View
The London Eye is the tallest Ferris wheel in Europe and the third highest in the world. Built for the Millennium celebration, the operation was planned only for 5 years. It was unsure if this will be continued, but after the great success of this idea, they decided to keep operating the London Eye.
Royal Way | Prague, Czech Republic
The path from the Republic Square up to the St. Vitus Cathedral at Prague Castle is known as the royal way of Prague. For centuries this was the way that had to be taken by the Bohemian kings to be crowned in St. Vitus Cathedral. Since in 1836 the last king was crowned in Bohemia, nowadays the Royal Way is just a tourist attraction – but one well worth seeing!
London Docklands | England
The London Docklands, once the largest port in the world, are now a vibrant financial center. The skyscrapers of Canary Wharf can be seen from all over the city but the direct view over the Thames you can enjoy from Greenwich. For a long time I wanted to try to make an HDR panorama. Overall, the finished work is composed of 28 individual images, 4 segments each with 7 exposures.
Cologne Skyline | Germany
When we visited my old school friend in Bonn, it was clear that we had to make a detour to Cologne. The pedestrian zone was much too crowded so that we quickly left the center of the city. After a long walk by smaller streets we eventually reached the river Rhine again. And well, what can I say. We only had one day, but I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful sky at sunset.
Golden Bergamo | Italy
Bergamo has the big advantage that you don’t have to search long to find a high view point. Being split in upper and lower city you always have a good view over the lower new part of Bergamo (Città Bassa). With the panorama of mountains in the back, Bergamo is still one of my favourite places in Italy.
The Best View | Berlin, Germany
It was a wise decision of the Park Inn Hotel at Berlin Alexanderplatz, when they built a viewing platform on the roof a few years ago. You can enjoy one of the best views over Berlin from up there – including a premium view on the television tower. I can recommend this hotel to everyone who comes to visit – even though, I as a Berliner never had a room there. But be careful that you book the room on
Commerzbank Tower | Frankfurt (Main), Germany
The Commerzbank Tower, built in 1997, was for a few years the highest skyscraper in all Europe and until 2012 the highest of the European Union. With its 257m height (300m including the antenna) and with the strong yellow illumination, the tower is not to oversee all day and night. As I was lucky enough to stand on the Main Tower right next to the office of the Commerzbank, I could capture the tower together with the old town of
