For my birthday Daria surprised me with a city trip to Frankfurt. She knows that I really like this city, hence it was the best birthday present she could have chosen for me. 2 years ago I fell in love with the Skyline of Frankfurt, with all its breathtaking skyscrapers, which are truly unique in all of Germany. Whenever I am in Frankfurt, I always visit the viewing platform of Helaba’s Main Tower in order to enjoy the extraordinary view over the rooftops of the buzzing metropolis.
Unique and extraordinary view from the Main Tower
The Main Tower in Frankfurt am Main, Germany was opened in January 2000 and with a height of 200 meters, it is the fourth highest building in the Federal Republic of Germany. In the core of the impressive facade of glass you find the 26 fastest elevators in the country, which transport people and goods with a speed of 25.2 km/h. The tower is home to many different businesses, banks and companies, for example Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen and Merrill Lynch. The transmission mast on the rooftop of the Tower is broadcasting the signal for the radio stations hr-info and You FM. However, to me the viewing platforms at the height of 198 meters are the most special thing of the building and always cater for a unique and extraordinary view over the city I love so dearly.
On the day this picture was taken, the clouds in the sky above Frankfurt am Main, Germany presented itself with a breathtaking dance. It was a stormy day and way too windy to use a tripod, but that didn’t matter. The battle between the brightly glowing sun and the dark and heavy rain clouds, which we witnessed at the horizon didn’t only make up for the fresh air blowing around our faces but also created this very special photograph.
