What’s interesting about this particular sky panorama in Berlin is that we could have missed an opportunity to capture this photo. I had a meeting with a fellow photographer, when it started pouring down with rain and after just a few moments of hesitation, we finally decided to try and take some photos to see what would happen.
This was an unusual spot to capture photos of the Berlin panorama. We made an appointment at Storkower Straße from which you can see the skyline of Berlin; with the TV Tower majestically prevailing the line of the horizon. When we reached our spot however, it was pouring with rain. We were very close to abandoning this effort, but at the very last minute – the rain slowly retreated. At some point, the sun came through the heavy clouds with the colour of the sky – producing this orange glow.
We spent three hours taking photos and I learned one very important lesson from this moment – Never give up too early, even if everything might go wrong in the beginning.
