Mineral springs
The mineral baths were known in Sofia Bulgaria already in 16th century. However, the final architecture is the effect of the reconstruction which those mineral baths went through at the beginning of 19th century. The style of the building was supposed to represent Vienna secession. Anyhow, it integrated also typical for this region in Bulgaria byzantine and orthodox elements.
The baths were used in Sofia until 1986 when the building was transformed into “Sofia Regional Historical Museum”. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the opportunity to visit the museum inside, but we enjoyed a lot the park in front of the Sofia Central Mineral Baths.
