St. Coloman Church, Schwangau in Bavaria, Germany.

St. Coloman Church | Schwangau, Germany

It was our first, long road trip when we travelled through Bavaria and Italy. Having a car with us meant that we could reach more remote places, for example, a small baroque Church of St. Coloman in Schwangau, which stood in the middle of a field. There were no tour bus stops and no cars slowing down so we laid our picnic and just enjoyed the setting sun.

Old City of Nuremberg, Germany with Nuremberg Castle by night

Old City Nuremberg | Germany

Nuremberg, the second largest city in Bavaria, is known as the cultural and economic capital in Franconia and one of the most important cities in all of Germany. Because of its picturesque Old City with a great number of historic buildings, Nuremberg is always worth a visit. The picture was taken at the bottom of the famous Nuremberg Castle – its hall is visible in the background.

View on the Bamberg Old Town Hall (Bamberger Rathaus) in Franconia at Night

The view on the Old Town of Bamberg | Bamberg, Germany

The Old Town of the university town Bamberg is the largest preserved historical city centre in Germany and is source of many myths and legends. Beside the impressive Bamberg Cathedral, the very famous „little Venice“ and all the small and crooked alleys, one of my favourite buildings is the Old Town Hall. But it is not just an ordinary Town Hall, as you find it in any other city, Bamberg’s Old Town Hall was built in the middle of the river Regnitz.
