Right away, The Fuente de la Hispanidad fountain in Zaragoza attracted my attention. Water and photography always work together very well, but there was something odd about this installation. I circled the fountain several times wondering what it could be, all the while questioning why someone would build such an odd fountain?
One section of the fountain is simply a flat surface of water, the other section looks like water running down a glacier. I couldn’t quite fathom the idea. Eventually, though, a group of tourists walked by and I was able to eavesdrop slightly. Suddenly, it all made sense. When you examine both sections together at the right angle, they form a map of South and Central America!
Intriguing indeed!
