When we visited Lagos on our Christmas trip, not only did I capture the beautiful Christmas decorations of the city, but I also had a look at the Lagos Fortress called “Forte da Ponta da Bandeira”.
Lagos was an important town in the history of Portugal. It’s very typical to find such Fort near any area on the Portuguese Coast that was worth protecting.
Unfortunately, we arrived too late to visit the interior of the Lagos Fortress. It usually has some art exhibitions on display, which is something you also often find in historical Portuguese buildings.
Despite being late, I still could take some photos from the outside. This is the composition that I found the most appealing. The light on the Fort itself wasn’t extreme, but it was enough. I was lucky that we had an almost full moon so that other areas that usually would have been too dark had also been a little illuminated by this natural light.
