There’s this quiet moment in Paris when the sky softens, the rooftops cool down, and the domes of Sacre Coeur Basilica catch the last warm touch of the sun. That’s exactly the moment I wanted to capture in this photograph.
From a distance, the basilica rises above the dense patchwork of Parisian rooftops like a calm guardian. The geometry below is chaotic and alive; the architecture above feels almost timeless. It’s one of those scenes that reminds me and hopefully you too that city photography can carry just as much emotion as a mountain vista.
To compress the foreground and make Sacre Coeur Basilica appear closer to the rooftops, I used a long focal length. The shot was taken on the Sony A7R V at:
