Misurina – Civetta Mountain and… a football pitch! | Dolomites, Italy

We visited the Misurina town a few times during our stay in the Dolomites. Because lake Misurina and the town are surrounded each side by the Alps, every time I took a photo – I would have a completely different composition.

Moving in such heights helps to strengthen your body

When you walk out of the town in the direction of the main centre for respiratory treatment (Opera Diocesana San Bernardo) alongside a small monastery on the opposite side of the street, you will have an uninterrupted view of the Civetta Mountain (Monte Civetta) which is often covered with smooth clouds.

The view that magnetised me was the vacant football pitch just at the foot of the mountain. I wouldn’t have imagined that such a large area of the valley would be used for this purpose, but I adored it so much! At a height of 1754 meters over sea level, we felt a little discomfort breathing and I can only imagine how challenging it would have been to play a football game in such conditions. As they say though, moving in such heights helps to strengthen your body!
