London Tower Bridge | England

If you are stuck with choice as to when to visit London – we recommend that you visit at a time when a marathon will be taking place. Why? Because the places that you will never see without cars and pedestrians are usually blocked.

We were passing the London Tower Bridge early in the morning, when we realised that the Tower was closed due to traffic. It became known to us that on this particular day, there was a marathon taking place and the city was preparing for it. Unfortunately, our only access were the footways that were opened to pedestrians as the street was closed and guarded.

We thought to ourselves for a slight moment, of an opportunity to enter the street. Unfortunately, though, the guards on our side of the street refused. At the same time however, another guard nearby allowed a pedestrian to take a photo with his smartphone. The guards that had spoken to me then looked on me and said that I could sneak a photo.

It was worth it! The Tower Bridge was still enlightened with the soft warm morning sun. And you don’t typically get such shots when there is traffic.

It was indeed my lucky day!
