TV Tower seen from Storkower Straße: Tilt-Shift Photography | Berlin, Germany

TV Tower In Berlin and the center captured from Storkower Straße. Tilt-Shift photography applied on the image.

This is my first attempt to use the tilt-shift effect. I wanted to test years ago but I didn’t have the right camera. The result is an impressive night photo image, taken from Storkower Straße I told you about in my Berlin Storkower Sky Panorama post.

TS Or Tilt-Shift Photography

When applied, tilt-shift effect modifies a photo image by blurring the foreground when it’s not interesting or even ugly. I like how it changes the perspective and shifts the eyes to the core of the picture. Look at this scene – we have interesting sky in the background and so many remarkable landmarks of the city besides the TV Tower in Berlin.

What Could Be Seen From Storkower Straße?

I find tilt-shift photography especially efficient on photo images as this one because it lets your eyes lay on the background, recognizing the City Hall, the Cathedral, the TV Tower in Berlin and also the Park Inn by Radisson Hotel on the right. In other words, it gives you the essence of the city, captured in one picture.

Tilt-shift effect has many applications. It could be used on photo images of mass events such as football matches, on panoramic views but also on portraits.
