Entering the Noble Floor, where the Batlló family once held large events, my eyes were immediately drawn to incredible ceiling and chandelier at Casa Batlló. Before even appreciating the whole extent of the space. Would you even guess this was chandelier, from this perspective? Maybe. But what really captivated me was the incredible ceiling.
Perched in the reception hall, I imagined owner of this living room, daily witnessing this view. Together with the chandelier’s play of light, the whirling patterns of the ceiling produced something very unique. The design seemed to me like the eye of a chameleon, its spiral, textured surface reflecting something organic and living. It was an amazing sight.
Ceiling and Chandelier at Casa Batlló
Linked to Mr. Batlló’s study, Casa Batlló’s primary living area provides one of the most amazing vistas of Paseo de Gracia. Designed not only to gather natural light but also to provide a space “to see and be seen,” the big picture window serves as the ideal framing for the busy avenue. Still, my attention kept returning to the ceiling even with this spectacular perspective.
The amazing pattern that Gaudí evokes the flow of ocean waves reveals his expertise. The room seems alive overall, like the ceiling is moving with the light. The great wood doors with stained glass components accentuate this fluidity even more. Everything here seems deliberate, every shape, every detail, every reflection the chandelier of Casa Batlló casts adds to the whole impact.
A Masterpiece with Every Detail
The Noble Floor shows evidence of invention, not only a display of riches and elegance. Together, the complex ceiling and chandelier at Casa Batlló design, all organically curved components produce an experience unlike any other. I was carried into the very thoughts of Gaudí himself as I walked through this room, not only to another era.
