We passed Praça 5 de Outubro many times whilst running around Cascais, to capture it in the best light. The square with the Cascais old town hall, the statue of Dom Pedro I (King of Portugal in the 14th century) and Citadel just on the corner, is a strategic point in the city. From there, you can reach every significant tourist attraction within a minute’s walk.
Apart from being a crossing point for many touristic paths, Praça 5 de Outubro is a lively place with many local restaurants and bars. The beach across the street in Cascais, makes a perfect place to spend an entire day, just enjoying the sun.
