​If you want to have the best view of Florence, it’s recommended that you visit Piazzale Michelangelo. But be aware! Climbing a hill is involved!

A sandy glow

When we were visiting Florence in the summer there were year’s record high temperatures. The days we were spending inside air-conditioned rooms and only early mornings and evenings were for us the time to discover the capital of Tuscany.

The advantage of temperatures over 36 degree was that the air in the evening was a bit hazy. So when you looked on the Florence panorama from Piazzale Michelangelo during the sunset you would have the impression that a sandy glow is raising from the city. With the background of the hills, this was such a perfect depiction of the Tuscany! When Nico finished processing this photo, he named it “Florence Fairytale” and I think there is something to that…
