Bode-Museum | Black and White with Colour

The Bode Museum on the Museum Island in Berlin is in my opinion one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. Even though the Museum Island in Berlin was heavily affected by the war, the Bode Museum withstood it relatively good. Here you go with a black/white/orange version of my photo from the Bode-Museum in Berlin.

Chancellor’s Bungalow – Main Room | Bonn, Germany

Now this is how it looked like, the room of power and the heart of the German Government for 35 years until 1999. This is where the Chancellors like Willy Brandt, Helmut Schmidt, and Helmut Kohl lived and received international guests. It’s not hard to imagine the powerful people of politics sitting down in the lounge chairs discussing the fate of their people, is it?

Independence Day | Bratislava, Slovakia

As the heavens opened up a bit and the UFO was illuminated in the orange light, it seemed to me as if I saw a version of the famous scene from the movie Independence Day – live in Bratislava. Surely, soon the first laser beams would appear across the Danube and raze the city to the ground…

Eternal Flame | Olympic Stadium Berlin

Since more than 14 years I like to call the Olympic stadium in Berlin my second living room. At some point I had the thought that theoretically, the sun should shine through the 2nd side throughout the whole stadium. By the way, the sunlight is broken by the fire bowl for the Olympic flame – the Eternal Flame.

Bode Museum | Berlin, Germany

The Bode Museum on the Museum Island in Berlin is in my opinion one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. Whenever I’m there it fascinates me, especially at night when the lights of the windows shine bright in the darkness. The round front makes it unique and well worth seeing again and again. Even though the Museum Island in Berlin was heavily affected by the war, the Bode Museum withstood it relatively good.

New Guardhouse | Berlin, Germany

The sculpture “Mother with her Dead Son” is the central element of the New Guardhouse (Neue Wache) near the Museum Island in Berlin. Since 1993, the New Guardhouse is Germany’s central memorial for the victims of war and dictatorship.

Commerzbank Tower | Frankfurt (Main), Germany

The Commerzbank Tower, built in 1997, was for a few years the highest skyscraper in all Europe and until 2012 the highest of the European Union. With its 257m height (300m including the antenna) and with the strong yellow illumination, the tower is not to oversee all day and night.
