Podgorica Landscape | Montenegro

Podgorica Millennium Bridge, Montenegro.

This is a photo that displays The Millennium Bridge and the centre of Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro. Does it not look more like a landscape photo, rather than a typical cityscape picture? You bet!

The capital of Montenegro reaches a total of just 200,000 people; a stark comparison to Berlin with its 3.5 million inhabitants. So far, it is the smallest European capital that we have visited, which is quite a change for us.

I cannot express though, how much we were surprised by the city and even more so by the nature of the people, they were so genuine and warm-hearted. This experience we have treasured in our memory so often that when we travel to other European countries, Daria and I compare the hostility of the people with an interesting sentence “It’s like in Montenegro”.

After publishing this photo on my Sumfinity fan page, one of my friends shared a comment in a story, which confirmed my thoughts about this nation. He explained that in 2013 there was a Romanian bus crash, 40 kilometers from Podgorica. Locals were rushed to several hospitals to donate their blood for the victims of the accident. There were so many people offering, that doctors had to ask them to stop coming!
