This panoramic photo of Carvoeiro was taken during our winter trip to the Algarve. This town is a popular destination for summer vacations in Portugal. However, and this is happening more and more, it is also a place where retirees or remote workers settle in the winter.
Admittedly, Nico and I are not retired yet and it will probably be a while before we buy a house in the Algarve, but we still appreciate the sunny weather of southern Portugal in winter. This panoramic photo of Carvoeiro was taken on New Year’s Day, when the daytime temperature reached 18 degrees Celsius.
We are still thinking about buying a house in the Algarve, Portugal. However, if we think about when we would spend time in it, we probably prefer autumn and winter. Maybe because we value long walks on an empty beach more than just sunbathing. Summer, on the other hand, would be the perfect time to rent a house for someone who would like to spend their vacations in a sunny place with their family.
