Gelukkig waren we ’s ochtends vroeg naar Verona gegaan, want toen we de Arena verlieten, leek de rij voor kaartjes eindeloos. De arena zelf is behoorlijk indrukwekkend. Niet zo indrukwekkend als het Colosseum in Rome, maar toch. Zeker als je bedenkt dat er nog steeds theatervoorstellingen in worden gehouden.
