This picture of the church of Nossa Senhora da Nazaré was taken just after sunset. The church is located on a hill above the town of Nazare. A walk “up the hill” is not the easiest if you carry kilograms of photographic equipment. However, the views from this place are so picturesque that a bit of “sport” pays off for sure.
The giant waves in Nazare in Portugal are among the largest in the world. During the season, they can reach up to 30 meters. No wonder that they attract surfers from all over the world.
The season for giant waves falls on the months October – March. The waves can reach up to 30 meters during this time. Although this is not recommended, giant waves can be observed from the beach called Praia do Norte.
