Praia da Adraga | Portugal

Praia da Adraga is probably one of the most spectacular beaches we have seen. Located near the town of Almoçageme, it is one of the “must-see” places in the Sintra region.

Blue Flag Beach

Praia da Adraga attracts tourists all year round – not only during the summer season. Rock formations surrounding the beach, caves and the spiky rocks “rising” from the Atlantic are an unusual sight. In addition, Praia da Adraga has been certified as a “Blue Flag Beach”, which means that it meets the requirements for an ecological public beach. Handicapped access is provided, and there is a reasonably good restaurant right at the entrance – all pluses.

Well almost… if you intend to reach Adraga Beach by car, prepare your patience and nerves. The streets of the nearby town of Almoçageme are narrow (as are the charming streets of Portugal). Which wouldn’t be a problem yet (clench your teeth and drive!), but people park where they can if the parking lot in front of the beach is already crowded. In short: plan a little extra time to get there during the summer season.
