The wishing well is officially the biggest monument in Copenhagen and tells a story about the country’s mythology with its sculptures. The Fountain shows a scene, in which the Aesir Damsel Gefion cuts a trench in between the Island of Zealand and Sweden with her plow, which is led by her three sons who had been turned into bulls. She cuts Zealand off the mainland forever and created the biggest Island in Denmark.
The Rynek, polish for market square, is as in most Silesian towns the centre of Świdnica. Remarkable was the variety of blooming flowers. I wanted to capture the blossom together with the architecture and the fountain serves well as a balancing weight in the middle of the hedge and the small green house.
Halny is a special foehn wind that occurs only on the Polish-Slovak border in the Tatra Mountains. First, clouds push in for 2-3 days on the Slovak side, bringing heavy rain. In the same time on the Polish side it is warm and sunny. After the 2-3 days, Halny comes to the Polish side. Hurricane force winds then come down from the peaks into the valley.
