Under en kv\u00e4llspromenad genom Schweiz n\u00e4st st\u00f6rsta stad f\u00e5ngade den praktfulla, upplysta byggnaden mitt i floden Rh\u00f4ne mitt fotografiska \u00f6ga p\u00e5 ett \u00f6gonblick.<\/p>\n<h2>En riktig fr\u00f6jd f\u00f6r \u00f6gat<\/h2>\n<p>BFM byggdes ursprungligen mellan 1883 och 1892 som ett vattenkraftverk och anv\u00e4ndes i den egenskapen fram till 1960. \u00c5r 1988 f\u00f6rklarade staden Gen\u00e8ve byggnaden som kulturminnesm\u00e4rkt, och under l\u00e5ng tid stod den tom tills Gen\u00e8ves opera renoverades 1997 och man beh\u00f6vde en tillf\u00e4llig spelplats. Den gamla maskinhallen omvandlades till en salong med 945 platser. Det som ursprungligen var en tillf\u00e4llig l\u00f6sning \u00e4r nu en popul\u00e4r plats f\u00f6r balettf\u00f6rest\u00e4llningar och operor.<\/p>\n<p>S\u00e5 h\u00e4r lyser BFM varje dag med sin nya funktion och har inte bara spelat en viktig roll i Gen\u00e8ves industrihistoria utan \u00e4ven i dess kulturhistoria.
