View from Prague Castle Gate, Czech Republic at sunrise in the early morning hours

Prague Castle Gate | Czech Republic

During our last stay in Prague I decided to make my way to Prague Castle, which was built in the 9th century as the largest ancient castle in the world, before any day trippers would be there in order to capture it in the golden light of the shy morning sun. I love to get my camera out before the day dawns and watch the world slowly wake up – to me this is very special.

Old City of Nuremberg, Germany with Nuremberg Castle by night

Old City Nuremberg | Germany

Nuremberg, the second largest city in Bavaria, is known as the cultural and economic capital in Franconia and one of the most important cities in all of Germany. Because of its picturesque Old City with a great number of historic buildings, Nuremberg is always worth a visit. The picture was taken at the bottom of the famous Nuremberg Castle – its hall is visible in the background.

Peniscola Castle under a sunshade at night

Peñiscola Sunshade | Spain

I won’t lie to you… I went to Peñiscola only for this spot. “The city in the Sea”, as local people call it, was tempting me for long time, so that we decided to spend one day of our trip along the eastern coast of Spain there. The castle which you see in this photograph was built in the thirteenth century by the Knights Templar.

Wawel Cathedral in Krakow (Katedra Wawelska)

Little Big Krakow | Poland

As a child I was always fascinated by city models or miniatures. And just when I entered the inner courtyard of the Wawel Castle in Krakow, I saw a model of the very same thing. Not only that, but the miniature is positioned in a way that you can capture reality and its copy in a single photograph.
