Peniscola with the Castle, during summer holidays in Spain.

Peniscola Castle | Peniscola, Spain

Peniscola is the kind of town that is our favourite to visit. Beautiful with a rich history, but still not so much discovered by travellers and photographers. The Castle was built in the 13th century by Knights Templar. At some point, this Castle also became a house to Pope Benedict III.

Lisbon Panorama from St George Castle; Portugal in the winter.

Panorama from St George Castle | Lisbon, Portugal

This old castle, São Jorge, is likely one of the oldest, historical sites to visit in Lisbon. The hill that Saint George Castle is situated on, was previously inhabited by the Celtic tribe, the Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians and Romans. This site was built in the 10th century as a protection against invading groups; the first walls were built in order to do this. Centuries later, the castle survived through many earthquakes, sieges and even the ever-changing rulers.

Liechtenstein – Vaduz Castle. A Summer visit in the Alpine country.

Vaduz Castle | Vaduz, Liechtenstein

The Vaduz Castle, located in Liechtenstein, was given this title due to its location’s capital –Vaduz. It’s the symbol of the country, a most majestic sight that I have personally experienced and this is also the home of the Princely Family of Liechtenstein. Unfortunately, this site is not open to the public, but it is still worth admiring from the outside and enjoying the views of the Alps.

Neuschwanstein Castle during the summer months, Bavaria in Germany.

Neuschwanstein Castle | Bavaria, Germany

Once we returned to the car, at the base of the Alpine foothills of which Neuschwanstein Castle stood, I looked once more behind me. The Bavarian Castle looked slightly isolated on the edge of the rock. I then looked at the sky above – do you see it too?

Palácio da Pena as its name is in Portuguese, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the best representations of Romanticism style in the world. It combines architecture styles of Neo-gothic, Neo-Manueline, Neo-Islamic and Neo-Renaissance. Be sure to take a walk not only inside Pena castle, but also around the castle itself. The view from some of the hills are remarkably outstanding and you will have an even better impression of the castle whilst seeing it from a distance.

Cyprus – Larnaca Castle on the beach.

Larnaca Castle On The Beach | Cyprus

I love castles (and of course my camera does too) and I love beaches (my camera is not so fond of sand) but an idea came to mind… why not combine both? The Larnaca Castle is the perfect location that faces the sea. The sky wasn’t perfect and there was a strong gust of wind from the sea. Once passing The Castle though, the sun shone through the clouds for a brief moment, adding a unique structure.

Photo of the Prague Castle during summer sunset taken from Tower of Charles Bridge in Prague, Czech Republic.

View from the Tower of Charles Bridge | Prague, Czech Republic

Charles Bridge has two towers – one from the side of old town and one from the Mala Strana district. This one closer to the old town is open for visitors. Originally, I planned to take photos of just the bridge, but there were simply too many tourists. So, I went up hoping to have some good composition from the tower, where I would have city view and the sunset together in one shot.
