The Acropolis view was the first one which greet us in Athens. This hill with remains of Parthenon temple is visible from almost every point of the city. The Acropolis of Athens is situated on a rock that rises around 150m above sea level. If you’ve been to the capital of Greece, you know how stunning it is to see it from anywhere, day and night.

Moreover, exceptional artifacts from the Greek Antiquity have been discovered during archeological research in the capital of Greece. These are now placed in the Acropolis Museum, which is situated on the same rock as the Acropolis, the Temple of Athena Nike, and the Parthenon.
When you visit this complex of the Temple of Hephaestus, you wonder how do the people in the past, without todays’ modern technology or equipment, managed to create something so marvelous that lasts for thousands of years!

The Acropolis of Athens is part of UNESCO’s World Heritage since 1987. It’s good to know that this famous building will be preserved for the future – its reconstruction works that started back in 1975, are now almost finished. Unfortunately, when we were there in the beginning of 2017 it wasn’t a case. Despite that, the composition of Acropolis and the city were enough picturesque to cover up imperfect contraction sight.
