The Balearic Islands are known for small, charming towns and fishing villages – such as Son Bou on Menorca. Most people know this place in daylight, however they and are not aware that at night from surroundings of the village one can see the Milky Way.

Favàritx Lighthouse is the oldest lighthouse on Menorca. Before it was erected in 1922 many ships wrecked on the north-east shore of this Balearic Island in Spain. The Favàritx lighthouse stands 47 meters above sea level. The lighthouse itself is 28m high, but it is built on the cliffs which fall steeply into the sea.

Amsterdam has three Red Light Districts, but the one located in the centre of the city is definitely the most famous. It is not only a place where prostitutes run their business, but also a part of the city where one can find popular coffee shops, sex-shops, cinemas, theatres, bars and dining places.

After two days of being in Sofia, we looked on the map again to see what we could still visit. Just at the end of the Vitosha Boulevard, we noticed a gigantic space that appeared to be a park, with only one large building placed in the centre. The Helix Bridge in Singapore; a design inspired by human DNA. This was something very difficult for me to imagine, even before I had actually seen it. This connection of science and architecture stunned me, and I felt that I would not be able to return to Berlin without capturing this rare composition.

The Church of St Anne is famous for its representation of a flamboyant and brick gothic architectural style in Lithuania. What was fascinating was that the exterior of the church had remained almost unchanged since the 15th century, when it was erected. Thanks to St Anne Church, the old town of Vilnius can potentially be signed to the UNESCO World Heritage list.

The 25 de Abril Bridge connects the city of Lisbon with the municipalities of Almada. It is the 32nd largest suspended bridge in the world. During the day, you will see that it appears as a dark red colour and it reminded me so much of the Golden Bridge in San Francisco. Just behind 25 de Abril Bridge in the municipality of Almada stands a statue of Jesus Christ – as its name emphasises – “Sanctuary of Christ The King”.

Earthshine is nothing more than the sun’s light reflecting on the Earth, which then replicates back onto the moon. This part of the moon then begins to glow on one side for just a little moment. It doesn’t happen very often, but when it does after a sunset, be sure to take a photo of it!
