Misurina Lake with mountain reflections in the Dolomites, Italy.

Misurina Lake | Dolomites, Italy

You will immediately notice when you’re in Misurina in the Dolomites, that the air will be unlike what you’ve ever experienced. The lake Misurina and its surroundings are believed to have good air for healing respiratory diseases. From our experience, we found that breathing 1754 meters above sea level wasn’t easy, but it may just be that the views were simply breath-taking.

Autumn & Saxon Switzerland - “Sächsische Schweiz”, Germany.

Autumn | Saxon Switzerland, Germany

It was funny to discover that the name “Sächsische Schweiz” comes from 17th Century. In 1766, two Swiss artists Adrian Zingg and Anton Graff joined Dresden Academy of Arts. These two artists wrote many letters comparing landscape – back then named Meissen Highlands – to their homeland. The name gained broad audience and soon enough the entire area was recognized this way.

Saxon Switzerland Valley from Gamrig - a sunset view in Germany.

Saxon Switzerland Valley from Gamrig | Germany

I really fell in love with Saxon Switzerland and I can’t believe it took me so long to visit it for the first time. The interesting thing is that for most of my life, I only lived just a few hours’ drive from this place. Sure, some areas get really crowded and busy but, you can easily find other areas that are very serene and silent.

Podgorica Millennium Bridge, Montenegro.

Podgorica Landscape | Montenegro

This is a photo that displays The Millennium Bridge and the centre of Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro. Does it not look more like a landscape photo, rather than a typical cityscape picture? You bet! The capital of Montenegro reaches a total of just 200,000 people; a stark comparison to Berlin with its 3.5 million inhabitants. So far, it is the smallest European capital that we have visited, which is quite a change for us.

The Hala Gąsienicowa cabin, which is located at the Tatra National Park in Poland.

Hala Gąsienicowa cabin – summer in the Tatra Mountains | Poland

The day was sunny and it was a pleasure to climb up, even though there were many people who were going with us. Our tour started at 1000m of altitude and ended at 2000m to Kasprowy Wierch. In two third of the way, we reached Hala Gasienicowa – a meadow in between mountains. As soon as I saw the composition of the wooden cabin with high mountain scenery I knew it was worth to carry ten kilos of camera backpack with me.

Aerial photograph of Langkawi Beach, Malaysia with Berjaya Langkawi Resort

Langkawi Beach from above | Langkawi, Malaysia

During our stay in the fantastic Berjaya Langkawi Resort in Pulau Langkawi, Malaysia I was finally able to take my latest technical gadget for a test-drive: My DJI Phantom 4 drone, which enables me to take pictures from a bird’s-eye view. The picture of the sapphire blue sea and the lush forest, together with the small wooden chalets of the resort prove that I couldn’t have picked a more suitable place – this coastal stretch deserves to be captured from above in all its beauty.

Girl sitting and staring at the sunset at Lake Tegel in the northern part of Berlin

Home Sweet Home | Berlin, Germany

It’s no secret that we love to travel and are often exploring the world. Yet, there is this one place where we are happy to come back to again and again. Especially after a long journey, things are often quite similar: First one evening on the couch, relaxing and arriving back home. But the very next day we often go out and have a look on “our” Lake Tegel. A wonderful constant which will be here forever, whenever we come back to Berlin.

Halny storm in Zakopane, Tatra Mountains

Halny | Zakopane, Poland

Halny is a special foehn wind that occurs only on the Polish-Slovak border in the Tatra Mountains. First, clouds push in for 2-3 days on the Slovak side, bringing heavy rain. In the same time on the Polish side it is warm and sunny. After the 2-3 days, Halny comes to the Polish side. Hurricane force winds then come down from the peaks into the valley.
