Büyük Han (The Great In) - The Oldest Hotel on the Cyprus Island.

Büyük Han – The Largest Caravanserai | Nicosia, Cyprus

Büyük Han – “Great In” is the oldest hotel that I have ever seen. It was built in 1572 as Caravanserai – a place where travellers in Cyprus could sleep overnight after their journey – usually in connection with the commerce trade. In our modern day, Büyük Han is currently located in the northern part of Cyprus and is the main attraction for tourists, however, this area no longer serves as a hotel.

Vladimir Vysotsky Monument with Millennium Bridge in the background in Podgorica, Montenegro.

Vladimir Vysotsky Monument | Podgorica, Montenegro

It seems that this country loved this artist – as his statue is one of the very few in the capital Podgorica. The shiny posture of the singer stands out on the yellow ground of the park along the river. With The Millennium Bridge in the background, it was an excellent composition for a photograph.

Singapore Marina Bay with Marina Bay Hotel at sunrise.

Marina Bay at sunrise | Singapore

The best view of the Singapore Bay is not from the famous Marina Bay Hotel as some would guess, but from the skyscrapers surrounding the bay itself. To have the perfect portrayal of this area, you will need to examine the Marina Bay Hotel and its unique architecture from the right perspective. The skyscraper where we stayed displayed a beautiful landscape on the last floor, which was a perfect spot to capture the bay.

Clock Tower (Sahat Kula) in Podgorica, Montenegro. Sight from Ottoman times.

Clock Tower (Sahat Kula) | Podgorica, Montenegro

Podgorica city centre is unlike any other city I have ever seen in my life. I expected small shops and touristic places in the middle of the capital Montenegro. To my surprise, the centre was sprinkled with small houses! On this side of the district though, you can see the Clock-Tower, which dates right back to the Ottoman times.

This is a picture of the marble example of Antiquity architecture – the Temple of Hephaestus in Athens.

The Temple of Hephaestus | Athens, Greece

Completed in the 415 BC, this marble building is of high architectural and archaeological significance. You may be surprised to find out that this marble example of fine Antiquity architecture has also inspired the design of buildings in other countries. Among them are: Vermont State House in the USA; Penshaw Monument in England; New Parliament House in Edinburgh.

La Monumental bullring in Barcelona, Spain

La Monumental | Barcelona, Spain

The arena is located in the iconic district Eixample, where it fills the space of one entire block of houses. It actually was the last bullfighting arena in Catalonia that was commercially used. Today, it is still used for sport events or concerts and can fit up to 25,000 people. It was finished in 1916 and is strongly inspired by Byzantine architecture.

Old City of Nuremberg, Germany with Nuremberg Castle by night

Old City Nuremberg | Germany

Nuremberg, the second largest city in Bavaria, is known as the cultural and economic capital in Franconia and one of the most important cities in all of Germany. Because of its picturesque Old City with a great number of historic buildings, Nuremberg is always worth a visit. The picture was taken at the bottom of the famous Nuremberg Castle – its hall is visible in the background.

HDR Photo of Brandenburg Gate in Berlin from the West side

Brandenburg Gate – West | Berlin, Germany

Most photos that you’ll see from the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin are taken from its eastern side. However, the western side of Brandenburg Gate has two advantages for photographers. For one thing you can capture the colors of the rising sun (it’s no fun to shoot a sunset at Brandenburg Gate, too many tourists) and for another thing you can catch some light trails of the passing cars.
