Public SPA | Mariánské Lázně, Czech Republic

The areas of Karlovy Vary and Mariánské Lázně are very special to me as they are the birthplace of my grandmother. She often talks about her early childhood home before the Second World War. It’s likely that due to her stories and her specialty cuisines which were created in a bohemian style, I always felt that in most respects, Czech Republic was home. Therefore, when our flight to Portugal was cancelled and a strike occurred at Berlin’s airport last year – we were not at all upset to return. We packed our suitcases into the car and drove back to Mariánské Lázně.

A trip to the Karlovy Vary region is never a bad idea!

This photo I took was on the second evening of our stay in this SPA town – I thought it depicted the spirit of the place quite well; the vacant park with barren branches at a calm in the night. And a cherry on top includes a Public Spa that’s made available – giving visitors a place to go and relax.
