Het is waarschijnlijk een van de meest opvallende gebouwen in de hoofdstad van Qatar, maar de moskee is niet het hele complex&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Al-Fanar Islamic Cultural Centre is de vroegere naam van dit culturele centrum. Tegenwoordig staat het hele complex officieel bekend als het Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Centre, ter ere van de beroemde geleerde en grondlegger van het rechtssysteem van Qatar. Het hele complex is van groot belang voor de cultuur van het land \u2013 er worden educatieve, sociale en religieuze evenementen gehouden. Naar verluidt kun je er ook echte Arabische koffie drinken en meer te weten komen over het dagelijks leven van de Qatari\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Hoewel de Fanar vlak naast de Souq Waqif en de Corniche ligt, waar we veel tijd hebben doorgebracht, is het ons niet gelukt om de moskee zelf te bezoeken (voor zover we hebben gehoord, mogen ook niet-moslims er binnen).
