Qatar<\/a>, die v\u00f3\u00f3r de 18e eeuw na Christus werd gebruikt. Katara – Doha Heritage Village was bedoeld om het traditionele Qatari-dorp weer te geven dat aan de Corniche in Al Rumeilia Park lag. En inderdaad, als je jezelf toestaat om te verdwalen in de smalle straatjes van 'Katara', heb je misschien het gevoel dat je enkele eeuwen terug in de tijd bent gestapt. Maar als je een van de ruime pleinen van dit Heritage Village opstapt, zul je misschien verrast zijn om een hedendaagse sculptuur of een winkelcentrum in een compleet andere bouwstijl te zien.<\/p>\nEen van onze favoriete pleinen in Doha Heritage Village was dat voor de Lafayette Gallery. De hele architectuur van deze beroemde galerie deed meer denken aan Europees classicisme dan aan traditionele Qatarese gebouwen. Maar dankzij het talent van de architect van Katara kon er een andere stijl worden ingepast in het traditionele deel van het nagebouwde Qatarese dorp.<\/p>\n
