Aveiro staat bekend als het \u201eVeneti\u00eb van Portugal\u201c. Die vergelijking is volkomen terecht als je voor het eerst de karakteristieke \u201eMoilceiros<\/a>\u201c-boten van Aveiro ziet en het netwerk van waterkanalen dat het stadscentrum doorkruist. En net als in Veneti\u00eb zijn ook de bruggen in Aveiro heel bijzonder. Die op de foto heet \u201ePonte do La\u00e7o\u201c of simpelweg \u201eCircular Pedestrian Bridge\u201c.<\/p>\n

Aveiro – La\u00e7o-brug<\/h2>\n

De "Ponte do La\u00e7o" is een bijzondere brug omdat hij de twee belangrijkste waterwegen van Aveiro met elkaar verbindt, namelijk de Cais dos Mercant\u00e9is en de Cais dos Botir\u00f5es, en het is een van de grootste bouwwerken in zijn soort in deze Portugese stad. Hij is ontworpen en gebouwd door architect Lu\u00eds Viegas van de afdeling Architectuur in Porto<\/a> en ingenieur Domingos Moreira. De werkzaamheden aan de "Ponte do La\u00e7o" werden in 2006 voltooid voor een totaalbedrag van 400.000 euro.<\/p>\n

"Ponte do La\u00e7o" is, zoals de naam al zegt, vooral een voetgangersbrug. Er is echter ook een fietspad en de brug is toegankelijk voor mensen met een beperking.
