Toen het gebouw in 1904 werd opgetrokken, heette het simpelweg het \u201eNationaal Theater\u201c in Sofia<\/a>. Het eerste stuk dat er werd opgevoerd, was toevallig \u201eDe verschoppelingen\u201c van Ivan Vazov, en later werd het theater naar deze Bulgaarse kunstenaar vernoemd.<\/p>\n

In het hart van Sofia<\/h2>\n

De neoklassieke bouwstijl is een van mijn favorieten en bij de Alexander Nevski-kathedraal<\/a> leek het perfect te passen. Ik probeerde deze foto te maken op de middag na onze aankomst in Sofia, maar het plein ervoor was te druk. Dat kwam waarschijnlijk door het uitnodigende caf\u00e9 aan de rechterkant van het theater, waar we later genoten van wat Bulgaarse hapjes.<\/p>\n

De volgende ochtend zou ik een interview geven aan Bloomberg TV in Bulgarije<\/a> over mijn auteursrechtkwesties en hoe ik mijn tijd besteed om ze aan te vechten. Het toeval wilde dat onze ontmoetingsplaats met de journalist precies voor het Ivan Vazov Nationaal Theater was, en dus terwijl de verslaggever stukjes filmde over hoe ik foto\u2019s nam, had ik daadwerkelijk de kans om een foto te maken van dit prachtig verlichte gebouw in het zachte ochtendlicht!<\/p>\n
