Je hebt waarschijnlijk al mijn foto gezien van de Zeepoort van Kotor, Montenegro<\/a>, de hoofdingang naar de volledig ommuurde oude binnenstad, gelegen in het westelijke deel van deze havenstad aan de Adriatische Zee. Nu laat ik je de andere zien: de Noordelijke Poort.<\/p>\n

De noordelijke poort van Kotor<\/strong><\/p>\n

De Noordelijke Poort werd in de 16e eeuw gebouwd ter herdenking van de overwinning van Kotor op de beroemde Turkse admiraal Hayreddin Barbarossa, en het is indrukwekkend dat hij nog steeds in uitstekende staat verkeert. Zoals gebruikelijk bij middeleeuwse bouwwerken ligt er naast de Noordelijke Poort van Kotor een gracht met turkoois water.<\/p>\n

De poorten van Kotor, Montenegro<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Ik heb de Zeepoort van Kotor al genoemd (en gefotografeerd), en ik wil daar alleen nog aan toevoegen dat deze ook in de 16e eeuw is gebouwd, toen de stad onder Venetiaans bestuur stond. Er zijn nog twee andere poorten die naar de oude binnenstad van Kotor<\/a> leiden: de Noordelijke Poort van Kotor en de Zuidelijke Poort, die groter is dan de Noordelijke.<\/p>\n

Ik heb deze plek in de vallei onder Saint John\u2019s Hill uitgekozen voor mijn fotoshoot omdat je hier een prachtig uitzicht hebt op het fort van Kotor<\/a>. Daria en ik zijn die dag de muren opgeklommen en hebben daar rondgewandeld. Ik raad je echt aan om zo\u2019n wandeling te maken als je deze prachtige havenstad aan de Adriatische Zee de volgende keer bezoekt.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
