We kwamen deze foto toevallig tegen op weg naar Neurenberg<\/a> en besloten een omweg te maken naar het pittoreske Bamberg<\/a>. Het was de eerste keer dat Daria de prachtige oude binnenstad van Bamberg bezocht, die sinds 1993 op de Werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO staat.<\/p>\n

De oude binnenstad van Bamberg is het grootste bewaard gebleven historische stadscentrum van Duitsland<\/a> en de bron van vele mythen en legendes. Tot de bezienswaardigheden behoren de indrukwekkende kathedraal van Bamberg, het beroemde 'kleine Veneti\u00eb' en een netwerk van kleine, kronkelige steegjes omringd door middeleeuwse gebouwen.<\/p>\n

Een van mijn favoriete gebouwen in de oude binnenstad is het oude stadhuis<\/a>, waarvan de geschiedenis teruggaat tot 1387. Maar het is geen gewoon stadhuis; het oude stadhuis van Bamberg ligt midden in de rivier de Regnitz en er is een unieke legende over het ontstaan ervan. Volgens de legende was de bisschop van Bamberg te hebzuchtig om geschikte grond te verstrekken voor de bouw van het stadhuis. De stadsbewoners losten dit probleem op door een kunstmatig eiland te maken van palen en hout, waarop ze dit opmerkelijke bouwwerk bouwden.<\/p>\n

Het Oude Stadhuis is een meesterwerk van barok- en rococo-architectuur en een kostbaar monument voor de stad Bamberg. Daria kon haar ogen er niet van afhouden, dus maakte ik van de gelegenheid gebruik om dit prachtige tafereel vast te leggen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
