De \u00d6resundbrug is de langste gecombineerde spoor- en verkeersbrug van Europa.<\/p>\n<h2>De verbinding tussen het Scandinavische schiereiland en West-Europa<\/h2>\n<p>Deze foto van de \u00d6resundbrug is een paar jaar geleden in de zomer gemaakt. We hadden besloten om een paar dagen naar Denemarken te gaan en van daaruit een kort uitstapje naar Malm\u00f6 te maken. Als je goed kijkt naar de rechterkant van de horizon, zie je in de verte de skyline van een stad. Dat is <a href=\"https:\/\/sumfinity.com\/nl\/fotos\/denemarken\/kopenhagen-nl\/sunset-skyline\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kopenhagen<\/a>, waar we verbleven. Het was een indrukwekkende ervaring om met de trein van het ene land naar het andere te reizen en in korte tijd de Oostzee over te steken.<\/p>\n<p>Het idee voor een brug tussen Denemarken en Zweden ontstond in 1936. Maar door de oorlog, verdere historische ontwikkelingen en de crisis die beide landen in de jaren 80 doormaakten, werd het project pas in 1995 weer opgepakt, toen de bouw van de \u00d6resundbrug van start ging (en in 2000 werd voltooid).<\/p>\n<p>Kortom, de brug verbindt tegenwoordig het <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Scandinavian_Peninsula\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Scandinavische schiereiland<\/a> met <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Western_Europe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">West-Europa<\/a> en, leuk weetje: hij vormt de ruggengraat van de internetdatatransmissie tussen Midden-Europa en Zweden.
