Postcard from Zaragoza | Spain

Basilica–Cathedral of Our Lady of the Pillar in Zaragoza

It all started with a brief internet search. From Barcelona I wanted to make a short detour before going home and as so often, I used http://www.sightsmap.com/# to find some nice towns in the area. Since I had a few days to spend, it should be something bigger and my choice fell on Zaragoza – mainly because of the wonderful Basilica. The pictures I saw were enough for me and I booked the train.

Once in Zaragoza, the town turned out to be the positive surprise of our trip to Spain. Many spacious squares, ideal conditions for photography and very interesting architecture. Moreover, the buildings were illuminated throughout all night and long in the morning, while tourists were nowhere to be found at this time. An absolute Dream!

I could make dozens of great shots from all positions and times of the Basílica del Pilar, the top attraction of Zaragoza. There is much more to come, stay tuned :). This first motive stabbed me right in the eye when I reached the square that morning, because it offered to include that postcard style lettering in the shot.
