Those who take only one day to visit Venice will regret it in the evening. Not even just because the city is worth it to spend more time in it. That’s for sure. But no, you will walk all day long. Obviously you can’t just hop on a tram or bus; instead you rely entirely on your legs and feet. Oh, and I bet you will get lost!
Usually I’m quite good in orienting in a new place, but in Venice it was almost impossible. Impossible to see the sun in the small streets and therefore no idea in which direction you’re going. Since then I always carry a compass in my backpack.
So it came that in the evening I just wanted to go to the hotel and sleep. My feet were hurting badly. But no, there is only one day. So when Daria went to sleep already, I went out again to the smaller alleys of Venice to get a few shots at night. Without a tripod at this time I only could put my camera on stairs or on the floor. But I think it was worth the pain.
