Dubrovnik's towers | Dubrovnik, Croatia

,

The picture of this remarkable sight was taken during a leisurely walk along the wall of Dubrovnik. The famous wall of Dubrovnik is the ideal place to enjoy some incredible views high above the red slatted roofs of the UNESCO world heritage city. While I looked around, this unique skyline caught my eye immediately. It shows the Dubrovnik Cathedral in the back, which was built between 1672 and 1713. The historical basilica was declared a world heritage site in 1979 and is the seat of the Diocese of Dubrovnik. The church of St Blaise is situated in the foreground of the picture and is one of the city’s most popular sights. Saint Blaise is the patron of the city and his church was built in 1715 on the ruins of an old church, which was destroyed by fire.

To me those towers and domes, whose outline pierce against the turquoise blue Mediterranean Sea is a unique sight and I doubt you will find this anywhere else in the world but in the Croatian city of Dubrovnik.
