\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSantiago Calatrava est l\u2019un des architectes que j\u2019admire le plus. J\u2019ai d\u00e9j\u00e0 photographi\u00e9 quelques-uns de ses immeubles de bureaux, et il y a quelque chose dans la fa\u00e7on dont il utilise l\u2019acier pour en faire presque un organisme vivant qui me pousse sans cesse \u00e0 revenir vers son \u0153uvre. Lors de mon voyage \u00e0 New York, la station du World Trade Center \u00e9tait un incontournable. C\u2019est le p\u00f4le de transport qu\u2019il a con\u00e7u pour le site reconstruit du World Trade Center<\/a>, et l\u2019int\u00e9rieur est un jeu de lumi\u00e8re \u00e9poustouflant.\r\n

Une merveille de lumi\u00e8re \u00e0 la station World Trade Center<\/h2>Ce qui m\u2019a le plus frapp\u00e9 en entrant dans la station World Trade Center, ce n\u2019\u00e9tait pas son ampleur gigantesque, mais la fa\u00e7on dont la lumi\u00e8re se comporte \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur. C\u2019est l\u00e0 tout le g\u00e9nie de Calatrava : les structures blanches en forme de nervures qui forment l\u2019Oculus ne sont pas simplement utilitaires ; elles modifient la lumi\u00e8re du soleil qui p\u00e9n\u00e8tre par les verri\u00e8res. Elles la courbent, jouent avec elle, la rendent en quelque sorte plus douce.\r\n\r\nLe r\u00e9sultat, c\u2019est un b\u00e2timent qui ne ressemble pas \u00e0 une gare, mais \u00e0 quelque chose de plus raffin\u00e9. Il y a l\u00e0 un c\u00f4t\u00e9 cath\u00e9drale, quelque chose qui attire le regard vers le haut. Le Grand Central Terminal<\/a> poss\u00e8de l\u2019autre grand plafond de New York, mais il joue sur la lourdeur et les ornements. L\u2019Oculus, lui, ne joue que sur la lumi\u00e8re.\r\n

Pr\u00e9server la s\u00e9r\u00e9nit\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur de l\u2019Oculus<\/h2>C\u2019\u00e9tait une photo difficile \u00e0 prendre. Je l\u2019ai prise en plein milieu de la journ\u00e9e, alors que la station du World Trade Center \u00e9tait pleine de voyageurs qui allaient et venaient dans tous les sens. Je voulais que le calme et l\u2019ampleur de l\u2019architecture ressortent sans \u00eatre g\u00ean\u00e9s par la foule.\r\n\r\nPour obtenir cette impression de vide serein, j\u2019ai d\u00fb bosser dur : j\u2019ai fusionn\u00e9 plusieurs clich\u00e9s pour d\u00e9gager l\u2019espace tout en conservant exactement la m\u00eame lumi\u00e8re. C\u2019est l\u2019une de ces photos o\u00f9 le post-traitement a autant contribu\u00e9 au r\u00e9sultat que le moment de la prise de vue. Le m\u00eame probl\u00e8me se pose partout dans la ville, et je l\u2019ai r\u00e9solu autrement \u00e0 la Bourse de New York<\/a>, o\u00f9 la foule est au contraire devenue partie int\u00e9grante de l\u2019image.\r\n

Deux vues de la station World Trade Center<\/h2>Je me suis retrouv\u00e9 avec une version verticale et une version horizontale de la photo, et j\u2019arrive toujours pas \u00e0 d\u00e9cider laquelle je pr\u00e9f\u00e8re. La version verticale attire le regard vers le haut, en direction de la verri\u00e8re, ce qui correspond exactement \u00e0 ce qu\u2019on ressent quand on se trouve dans le hall. La version horizontale d\u00e9voile toute la largeur de l\u2019Oculus. Les deux repr\u00e9sentent fid\u00e8lement la station du World Trade Center, chacune \u00e0 sa mani\u00e8re. Je te laisse d\u00e9cider. Si tu as un coup de c\u0153ur \u00e9vident, dis-le-moi ; sinon, si tu es aussi ind\u00e9cis que moi, je comprends.\r\n

Je me trouve dans un m\u00e9morial qui fait aussi office de gare<\/h2>\r\nLa gare du World Trade Center est l\u2019un des b\u00e2timents les plus fascinants que j\u2019aie jamais photographi\u00e9s. En tant que plaque tournante des transports, elle fourmille de navetteurs et de voyageurs, qui passent<\/a> tous par les quais du PATH en contrebas<\/a> pour se rendre ailleurs. En m\u00eame temps, il s\u2019en d\u00e9gage une atmosph\u00e8re solennelle, cette m\u00eame atmosph\u00e8re silencieuse que j\u2019avais ressentie dans la salle d\u2019enregistrement d\u2019Ellis Island<\/a>, qui te rappelle o\u00f9 tu te trouves, m\u00eame si la ville continue de vivre au rythme de ses activit\u00e9s quotidiennes.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
