Altar in the St. Kinga's Chapel in the Wieliczka Salt Mine in Poland

La mine de sel de Wieliczka et surtout la chapelle Sainte-Kinga, située à 101 m sous terre, sont exceptionnelles. Une immense salle (465m² et 11m de haut) si profondément sous terre, éclairée par des lustres et ornée de nombreuses pièces d’art. Mais le plus impressionnant pour moi était l’autel vieux de plusieurs centaines d’années fait de sel.

La chapelle a été nommée en l’honneur de Sainte Kinga de Pologne, qui est également la patronne des mineurs de sel. Et la chapelle est toujours utilisée ! Jusqu’à 400 personnes peuvent y entrer pour des services religieux, des concerts ou même des mariages.
