Fue aqu\u00ed donde el clan Al Muhannadi (formado por siete familias beduinas) fund\u00f3 la ciudad, que pas\u00f3 a formar parte del Estado de Catar a partir de 1971. Al igual que en Doha, la principal ocupaci\u00f3n de los beduinos de esta regi\u00f3n era la pesca y la recolecci\u00f3n de perlas.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Al Khor est\u00e1 a solo 50 kil\u00f3metros de Doha, la capital de Catar. El camino hasta Al Khor es toda una aventura en s\u00ed mismo: a pesar de la moderna infraestructura, da la sensaci\u00f3n de estar conduciendo por el desierto sin ver ning\u00fan otro coche. Aunque Al Khor solo tiene unos doscientos mil habitantes, la autopista desde Doha tiene entre seis y siete carriles.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nuestro gu\u00eda de Catar nos cont\u00f3 que gran parte de las familias catar\u00edes prefieren vivir en Al Khor, ya que las temperaturas en el norte del pa\u00eds son un poco m\u00e1s bajas que en Doha. Adem\u00e1s, se dice que Al Khor es un destino vacacional estupendo: cuenta con complejos tur\u00edsticos, lugares hist\u00f3ricos y monumentos naturales.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, solo pudimos ver el puerto pesquero de Al Khor. Las barcazas tradicionales que a\u00fan hoy pescan pescado local son como un pedazo de historia flotante. Nuestro gu\u00eda tambi\u00e9n nos cont\u00f3 que, si queremos comer pescado en un restaurante, podemos estar seguros de que estar\u00e1 fresco: en Catar hay una ley que establece que solo se puede conservar durante un m\u00e1ximo de un d\u00eda sin incurrir en multas elevadas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>El puerto de Al Khor es una de las \u00abcunas\u00bb de Catar.
